Who We Are
Center for Inclusive Rights and Equality (CIRE) is a community-based organization established in 2022 in Malawi. CIRE works to protect and promote the rights, dignity, equality and wellbeing of minority and marginalized communities.
The organization focuses on protecting the rights of LGBTQI+ people, young people, sex workers, older people, people with disabilities, and other marginalized groups who face discrimination, stigma, violence, exclusion, and barriers to accessing essential services.
We work directly with communities and rights holders to build safe, inclusive and non-discriminatory communities.
We partner with service providers, government institutions, civil society organizations and other stakeholders to promote inclusive services.
We engage duty bearers and policy-makers to address discrimination and promote inclusive policies.
What Drives Us
Everything we do is guided by a clear belief: every person deserves to live with dignity, freedom and opportunity — without discrimination based on identity or social status.

Mission
Our Work
From human rights education to advocacy, our programmes are designed around the priorities of the communities we serve.
Promoting awareness and protection of the rights of marginalized and minority communities.
Advocating for the dignity, safety, equality and inclusion of LGBTQI+ people.
Empowering young people with information and opportunities to participate in decisions affecting their rights and wellbeing.
Promoting the rights, dignity, safety and access to essential services for sex workers.
Engaging duty bearers and policy-makers to address discrimination and promote inclusive policies and services.
Working with communities to address stigma, discrimination, harmful social norms and exclusion.
Who We Serve
CIRE primarily works with communities that experience discrimination, stigma and exclusion — together with the leaders, allies and institutions around them.
Our Approach
CIRE uses a rights-based, community-led, inclusive and non-discriminatory approach. We put the people we serve at the centre of everything — from designing programmes to evaluating their impact.
Affected communities take part in programme design, implementation, monitoring and advocacy.
We work through partnerships with communities, civil society organizations, government institutions and service providers.
Every programme is grounded in dignity, safety and non-discrimination, and is accountable to the communities it serves.
